Dear Professors, in accordance with the “Taipei Medical University Regulations for Incentivizing Teachers to Conduct English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) Courses,” applications for the EMI Course Incentive for Academic Year 114 are now open.

The application period is from now until June 23, 2026 (Tuesday) at 6:00 p.m. We welcome and encourage all eligible faculty members to apply.

Incentive Amount

1.    First-time Undergraduate EMI Course Incentive

1.     Eligibility Criteria:

lLimited to undergraduate EMI courses first offered in Academic Year 114.

2.     Applicants: Full-time and part-time teachers at our school.

1.     An incentive of NT$10,000 per credit will be awarded for each course, up to a maximum of NT$30,000.

2.     Each course may apply for this incentive only once.

3.     If a course is co-taught by multiple instructors, the incentive shall be distributed among the instructors.

2.    Continuing Undergraduate EMI Course Incentive

1.     Eligibility Criteria (All of the following criteria must be met):

lLimited to undergraduate EMI courses offered in Semester 114-2.

lEMI courses approved by the University-level Curriculum Committee.

lThe course evaluation score reaches 4.2 or above.

lAll students in the course evaluation must select that the entire course was taught in English throughout the semester.

2.     Applicants: Full-time and part-time teachers at our school.

1.    An incentive of NT$5,000 per credit will be awarded for each course, up to a maximum of NT$15,000.

2.    Each course may apply for this incentive up to three times in total. Applications will no longer be accepted once the limit has been reached.

 

3.    International Co-teaching Course Incentive

1.     Eligibility Criteria (All of the following criteria must be met):

lLimited to EMI courses in Academic Year 114 in which the instructor co-teaches with an overseas scholar for the first time through the International Co-teaching Course: Glocal Lecture Room, for at least four weeks (8 hours).

lThe course evaluation score reaches 4.2 or above

2.     Applicants: Full-time and part-time teachers at our school.

3.     The following supporting documents shall be submitted when applying:

lproof of first-time co-teaching

lproof of synchronous or asynchronous instruction

lrecords of online teacher–student discussion and interaction.

1.     Each course is eligible for an incentive of NT$10,000.

2.     Each course may apply for this incentive only once.

# Notices #

1.    “1. First-time Undergraduate EMI Course Incentive“ and “2. Continuing Undergraduate EMI Course Incentive“ may be applied for simultaneously.

2.    Language courses offered by the Center for General Education and degree programs of each department are not applicable.

3.    Final approval and incentive disbursement are subject to the final review results. Approved incentives will be deposited together with regular payroll.
