Dear faculty members,

To encourage teachers’ active participation in the English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) Teacher Training Program, Academic office has established the EMI Teacher Training Incentive Directives.

Application Period: May 10, 2024, to June 30, 2024

Qualifications and associated rewards:

  1. Full-time faculty members and project-based teaching staff who have obtained the Advanced EMI Teacher Training Certificate from the 2022 academic year onwards will be awarded NT$20,000.
  2. Faculty members teaching key courses or curricula of the bilingual program, as announced by our center, will receive NT$10,000 for each credit, with a maximum incentive of NT$30,000. If a course is co-taught by multiple instructors, the incentive will be distributed according to the teaching ratio of each certified instructor. Instructors lacking the requisite certification are ineligible for this incentive (For example, consider a one-credit course co-taught by instructors A, B, and C, with teaching ratios of 20%, 60%, and 20% respectively. If only instructors A and B are certified, the incentive will be distributed between them in a 1:3 ratio, corresponding to their teaching contributions. Consequently, instructor A will receive NT$2,500, and instructor B will receive NT$7,500.)
  3. Faculty members invited by our center to engage in classroom observation demonstrations, video recordings, or exemplary course recordings will be compensated with an incentive of NT$5,000 per hour."

Awardee Obligations:

Awardees must collaborate with our center to showcase achievements and share teaching or lecture experiences and methods.
